Biography
The Daughters of Bristol are a goth rock band founded in 2002 and based in Seattle, Washington. The group’s only main stay members are Joseph Ronin and Edward Nicholas. The group has released 5 studio recordings, featured on various music compilations, and their song “Dance Among The Dead” was played in the independent movie “Haunt”. Their sound is drum machine driven gothic rock. History - Foundation (2001-2002) The band was unofficially formed in Fulton, Missouri on the steps of Dulany Auditorium in 2001 by Joseph Ronin and Edward Nicholas, a method to escape their studies at William Woods University. After graduation and settling on the name “The Daughters of Bristol” in 2002, the group was officially launched. Their name is a reference to Bristol, England and the female gender’s ability to produce offspring. Fully acknowledging that many of their musical influences and reasons for existence derive solely from the United Kingdom and such information being passed down by previous generations. St. Louis, MO era (2002 - 2005) The group become heavily immersed in the St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri music scene, playing shows regularly throughout the state, as well as recruiting a few like minds to aide in live performances. One of their first ever live performances was in 2003 at the Eastside Tavern in part with the Kindred Film Festival in Columbia, MO. Seattle, WA era (2005 - Current) In the summer of 2005, the band relocated to the Pacific Northwest, due to Seattle’s and Portland’s thriving music scene. Since moving, the band has continued releasing studio recordings and playing live regularly, sharing the stage with Attrition, Munly & The Lupercalians, Spiritual Bat, The Romance, C’est la Mort, Blicky, Jupiter Crash, and DJ Coldheart. In the summer of 2009, Aaron Brown joined the band full time. For their fifth studio release, “The Ave,” they’ve partnered with German based label Danse Macabre

Influence - Influenced heavily by the genres of post-punk, goth, punk, 80’s, British rock, and jangle pop and such artists like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, The Doors, The Velvet Underground, Bauhaus, Suicide, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Psychedelic Furs.
